Hi, please let me introduce myself. My name is Tori (Victoria if I'm in trouble with my Mum!) and I've been a Fitness Instructor for four years. I’ve danced from the age of three- ballet then tap, disco, rock 'n' roll, jazz, modern, ballroom and Latin American. I have competed at national level in disco and rock 'n' roll in the singles doubles and team categories. However, I was definitely NEVER what they call a ‘fitness fanatic’ (I doubt you would’ve even called me a fitness fan!) and I experienced my first ever fitness class at the tender age of 32!
A knee injury stopped my dancing days at 15, and that was the end of any engagement in exercise for me for 17 years.
During that time, I married, had three wonderful boys and went through an emotional breakdown of my marriage before getting divorced.Having always struggled with self-confidence and anxiety when I divorced, and driven by a desire to be a stronger and ,yes, better version of myself, I decided to do some self-investing, which was a strange and very new experience for me!! I did all the “normal” stuff; counselling, spa days, bought the motivational books…and for the first time in my entire life, I walked into a gym and signed my life away for the next 12 months!! I embraced it all! The PT Sessions, the saddle sore from all the spin classes (well one!!) the pump classes, the HIIT classes but the dance fitness classes were always my favourite and the classes I would look forward to all week.
My life took on a new turning point when I decided to try an Aerolatino class. It was a love affair from day 1!! I’d finally found a class that for me, had it all! Gentle on my body (I didn’t leave with aching knees or feeling like I’d just taken on the Flashdance routine whilst riding the Waltzer!!) yet it gave a fab, high energy workout that left me feeling great and benefited those “all-important body parts and my mind!! I was hooked and wanting to share my own experience and passion for all that Aerolatino offered and on how my life has changed since investing and believing in myself, I decided to qualify as an instructor and …I LOVE MY JOB!! I am lucky. I have the advantage of keeping myself fit and healthy while I work but so much more than that, I help others to do that too whilst building a community. A real Fitness Family. Exercise is a great way to help boost your mood as well as your overall fitness. Whatever your age or ability, moderate exercise can help to reduce stress, help you sleep better, keep your heart healthy and give you more energy - which all helps to make us happier! The clichés really do work!! Age really IS just a number!! It’s NEVER too late to start!! There’s NO time like the PRESENT!! There is NO such word as CAN’T!! I pride myself on offering classes that are warm, welcoming, fun and accessible to all ages, abilities and levels of fitness! Working at your own level, why not come and join us in class and see how they can change your life, just as they have changed mine.
