I have been practicing as a massage therapist since 1990. My approach is holistic and directed both towards prevention and cure. I have developed my own method of treatment based on a variety of massage techniques. My work is usually in three stages: the first stage in dealing with pain especially chronic pain is usually manifested in poor postural alignment which I need to address.
the second stage is dedicated to fascia and muscle release, the third stage is designed to reset the nervous system and strengthen the immune system. This is because chronic pain, referred pain and ghost pain often persists even after treatment because dysfunctional patterns in the body have set in. This causes disruption in sensory perception: the body loses the memory of feeling at ease and people resign themselves to manage pain. this process of normalisation of sensorial perception is at the core of my work. Dealing with shock and pain as a form of stress on the body and mind has also taken me further to explore yoga and meditation and to treatment such as Brain Optimization to specifically address the mind. Starting from reducing pain and suffering and leading towards a deeper understanding of sensorial perception has taken me on the footsteps of the Buddha and I now consider myself Buddhist de facto. Inflammation which is a natural response as part of the healing process can easily be disrupted by the environment. I also became interested in the modulation of the immune system response and what can be done in my work to help the immune system which overreacts to a specific stimulus or shows no appropriate response, not reacting. I came to the conclusion that stress and nutrition are key so I have been exploring particularly stress relief and anti-aging.
