I have been a qualified Skateboard Coach since 2017. I started my career coaching group sessions at Projekts MCR in Manchester at the skatepark. I then took on a Comic Relief funded role and spent two years delivering skateboarding and leadership workshops to young girls in schools around Manchester.

At the beginning of 2021 I relocated to East London and launched Shanko's Skate School.
I am DBS checked, safeguarding and first aid trained, and I am also a Skateboard GB registered coach member.

I specialise in tailored 1-to-1 tuition and small group lessons (2-4 people) for complete beginners and entry-level skateboarders. This is because my primary focus is making sure that all of my learners get the best possible introduction to skateboarding so that it is more accessible for everyone.

Skateboarding is a great tool for building confidence and resilience, so I want to utilise that and make sure my learner's skateboarding experiences are as positive as possible. I believe that working more closely with learners means the benefits will be greater as there are more opportunities for individual feedback, positive reassurance and therefore it leads to better skill progression and an increase in confidence levels. All of which are key to a positive learning experience, as well as fun, obviously.

I also just love skateboarding and I want to help other people experience the joy that skateboarding can bring. No matter what age, gender or (dis)Ability. My goal is to give people their best shot at getting on a skateboard, having fun and achieving their goals.
