A BIT ABOUT THE DAY
This is an exceptionally special day for the avid or aspiring home baker. A whole day under the tutelage of the Little Bakery in Langport founder, Melanie. She is taking the rare day off to spend sharing her lively personality and knowledge with a select group of 6 people in the Georgian era kitchen and pantry and New Cross Farmhouse.
Using only the finest Shipton Mills flours, the morning will be about making both sourdough bread and a quick yeasted focaccia for everyday easy baking.
Guests will then enjoy a luncheon in the formal dining room and nibble on the fresh from the oven focaccia.
We will then return to the kitchen to make the perfect croissants in both sweet and savoury varieties.

After working as a boulangerie apprentice in Sherborne, Melanie realised she had not only a culinary gift but also the passion to share the simple pleasures of bread and baked goods. Her cult following at the Little Bakery in Langport is the stuff of legend and high-end restaurant chefs seek her out to provide unmatched fine bakery products.
More than skill, Melanie is full of life and fun. She never takes the time out of a baker's busy schedule to actually share how she works with bread to others. This is truly a rare opportunity and Melanie is very excited to spend the day with you.
